16 years ago today, Satoshi Nakamoto released the iconic Bitcoin Logo.
On February 24, 2010, Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto posted on the Bitcointalk forum, unveiling the second-generation Bitcoin logo and seeking community feedback: "How about the new icon? Better than the old one?"
History of Bitcoin logo evolution:
· Early 2009 First-generation Logo: Gold coin engraved with "BC," emphasizing scarcity and the "digital gold" attribute.
· 2010 Second-generation Logo: Changed to a gold coin with a capital "B" (₿) with two vertical lines, reinforcing the "electronic currency" image, and provided a 530×529 pixel PNG file for community use.
· November 2010 Iteration: Forum user bitboy redesigned it in orange (#F7931A), tilting the symbol 14 degrees to the right, becoming the classic version used to this day.
