Worldcoin Open Letter: The new identity and financial network of 8 billion people around the world is now open!

Today, Worldcoin officially released its token WLD.

Worldcoin official Twitter released an open letter co-signed by Worldcoin founders Alex Blania and Sam Altman. Odaily Planet Daily compiled the open letter, and the full text is as follows:

More than three years ago, we founded Worldcoin with the vision of creating a new identity and financial network for everyone in the world, and today the project is officially launched. If successful, we believe Worldcoin could dramatically increase economic opportunity; provide a reliable solution for distinguishing humans from AI while preserving privacy; advance global democratic processes; and ultimately demonstrate a potential path to AI-funded UBI. Worldcoin consists of a privacy-preserving digital identity (World ID) and (where permitted by law) a digital currency, WLD, available simply because you are human. Where the rules are unclear (like the US), we will take steps to benefit more people.

You can now download the World App, the first protocol-compatible wallet with a share reserved for you. After accessing the Orb (biometric authentication device), you will be issued your World ID. This allows you to prove online that you are a real and unique individual, while maintaining complete privacy.

As global distribution of Orbs accelerates, you can find your nearest Orb and book an appointment to verify it on worldcoin.org and the World App.

Worldcoin’s attempt to achieve consensus on a global scale has been a challenging and uncertain journey. But finding new ways to broadly share the coming technological boom is one of the great challenges of our time. We hope you will join us.
