According to Jintou Data citing CCTV reports, the Asian Development Bank released the "Asian Development Outlook 2026" report on April 10, stating that the Middle East conflict has increased global geopolitical risks, and developing economies in the Asia-Pacific face rising economic downturn risks. The ADB predicts that if the Middle East situation stabilizes earlier, the economic growth rates of developing economies in the Asia-Pacific in 2026 and 2027 will slow from 5.4% in 2025 to 5.1%, and inflation will rise from 3.0% in 2025 to 3.6% in 2026 and 3.4% in 2027.
The report points out that if the chaos in the Middle East continues into the third quarter of this year, the economic growth rates of developing economies in the Asia-Pacific in 2026 and 2027 could slow to 4.7% and 4.8%, respectively, with inflation rising to 5.6% in 2026.
