JUST IN: Volkswagen will stop producing the all electric ID.4 at its Chattanooga, Tennessee, plant, a clear sign of how several traditional automakers are recalibrating their electrification plans in the United States.

The company will continue sales until inventory is depleted, but its immediate focus is now on higher volume gasoline SUVs, with the 2027 Atlas at the heart of the strategy.
Volkswagen will cease production of the ID.4 in the United States and will sell off remaining inventory through 2027.
