Pop Mart teams up with Sony Pictures to produce the LABUBU live-action animated film, with Long Jiaseng appointed as executive producer.
On March 19, Pop Mart and Sony Pictures jointly announced the latest developments for the LABUBU film. The two parties will develop a live-action animated film centered on the IP character THE MONSTERS (LABUBU) under Pop Mart, using a combination of live-action settings and CGI. The film is planned to be directed and produced by Paul King, who previously directed the Paddington series and the box office hit Wonka. In addition, THE MONSTERS artist Long Jiaseng will serve as the film’s executive producer. Paul King will also team up with Steven Levinson to write the screenplay for the film. (Yicai)
