AS, China, and Russia Control 68% of Global Bitcoin Hashrate

The three major countries, namely the United States, China, and Russia, are known to control approximately 68% of the total Bitcoin hashrate worldwide.
Hashrate is a key indicator that shows the total computational power used to process transactions and secure the Bitcoin network through mining activities.
The dominance of these three countries reflects the concentration of Bitcoin mining infrastructure in certain regions, influenced by factors such as energy costs, regulations, and the availability of technological resources.
The United States has become one of the main mining hubs after a large-scale shift of mining activities away from China in recent years. Meanwhile, Russia also plays an important role thanks to access to cheap energy and favorable geographic conditions.
Although China once banned mining activities, some operations still contribute to the global network, either through relocation or limited activity.
This hashrate concentration raises concerns in discussions about the decentralization of the Bitcoin network. The more centralized the distribution of computational power, the greater the potential risks to the network’s security and independence.
Nevertheless, the Bitcoin network is designed to operate in a decentralized manner, with thousands of nodes and miners across various countries continuously maintaining system stability.
