Zhong Zheng Representative: Setting a "New Standard" for Smart Home Technology
Adapting to the consumption needs of different groups and expanding high-quality supply helps boost consumption. Currently, the home appliance industry is at a critical stage of transitioning from “single-item smart” to “whole-house proactive smart.” However, issues such as fragmented operating systems and lack of connectivity standards still exist, becoming significant bottlenecks restricting high-quality industry development. Zhong Zheng, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Midea Group and a National People’s Congress delegate, believes that promoting the establishment of national standards for smart home interconnectivity is a practical need to solve industry development pain points and improve consumer experience. It is also a key measure to integrate the domestic industrial ecosystem, gather technological forces, and turn independent innovation advantages into industry growth momentum.
Delegate Zhong Zheng stated that efforts should be accelerated to formulate and implement national standards for smart home interconnectivity, clarifying core technical specifications for device discovery, connection, control, data models, and security protection. Leading companies should play a guiding role, encouraging top home appliance and smart home enterprises to promote ecosystem co-construction among businesses and break down brand barriers. Additionally, large-scale application demonstrations should be carried out, integrating the implementation of smart home interconnectivity standards with projects such as smart communities, affordable housing, elderly care facilities, and smart home industrial parks. The goal is to create a series of demonstration projects featuring whole-house intelligence, proactive energy saving, and elderly care, driving further standard improvement and popularization through market demand.
