Braskem SA announced that a new Brazilian law (Supplementary Law No. 228) has significantly increased tax credits (REIQ) for chemical and petrochemical feedstocks from 0.73% to 5.8%, with a sectoral cap of R$2 billion for 2026. This measure, alongside a R$1.1 billion “REIQ Investment” credit for new sector investments, aims to enhance the competitiveness of Brazil’s chemical industry amidst a prolonged downturn. Braskem views this as a crucial step to support companies and stakeholders in the value chain.
