March 20 Midday Market Review: ChiNext Index Up 3.3% in Half Day, Computing Power Hardware and Photovoltaic Sectors Rally Together

  1. The Shanghai Composite Index traded sideways in the morning, with the ChiNext Index rising over 3%. The photovoltaic and energy storage sectors collectively strengthened, with multiple stocks like Sungrow Power Supply, Shouhang New Energy, and Deye Holdings hitting the daily limit. The lithium battery sector rebounded, with Penghui Energy, Huabao New Energy, and Painen Technology rising over 10%. Optical communication concept stocks surged, with Yuanjie Technology hitting the 20% daily limit, surpassing Cambrian to become the second-largest in A-shares. Changguang Huaxin and Tengjing Technology rose over 15%. On the downside, the chemical sector declined, with Luxin Technology hitting the limit down. At midday, the Shanghai Index rose 0.16%, the Shenzhen Component Index increased 1.57%, and the ChiNext Index gained 3.3%.

  3. A total of 1,963 stocks rose in the two markets, with 38 hitting the daily limit; 3,103 stocks declined, with 2 hitting the limit down; 15 stocks experienced trading halts, with a halt rate of 31%.
