Qualcomm has outlined its vision for the future of connectivity, focusing on the evolution from cloud-based AI to edge AI to enhance performance, user experience, and privacy, particularly with 6G and Wi-Fi 8. The company plans to advance AI models with reduced parameters and introduce a new Snapdragon 8 elite platform featuring a faster NPU, emphasizing hybrid AI architectures for future 6G infrastructures and datacenters. Qualcomm views 6G as an AI-native system built on connectivity, wide-area sensing, and high-performance compute, aiming for pre-commercial work by 2028 and commercialization from 2029.
