Californians Struggle with Soaring Gas Prices
(MENAFN) Escalating gasoline costs, driven by the ongoing U.S. war with Iran, are putting significant strain on American households, particularly in California.
Residents in the state are facing the highest fuel prices in the nation, averaging 5.542 U.S. dollars per gallon as of Tuesday, according to reports. The increase, combined with existing tariffs, is squeezing family budgets and intensifying opposition to a conflict many citizens neither support nor fully understand.
“I don’t know what we are going to do when gas prices keep rising,” said Tracy Brown, a local school teacher, explaining that her salary is already stretched thin by sudden price increases, causing severe financial stress for her family.
She added, “How can we afford to pay our rent and utilities to keep a roof over our children’s heads when all our other expenses keep going up because of Trump’s tariffs and now this senseless war in Iran? Is the President going to pay the increases for us?”
Her friend, Amanda B., a 34-year-old restaurant worker, expressed similar frustration. “Trump claims prices are going down, but everything’s still going up,” she said.
At a Chevron station near Burbank, an employee named Hussein noted, “As long as the war in Iran drags on, gas prices will continue to go up and up. All our customers are complaining, but only Trump can fix this, not us.”
