White House officials say Trump has no plans to deploy ground troops to Iran

On March 20th local time, a White House official stated that although the United States is increasing its military presence in the Middle East, President Donald Trump currently “has no plans” to send ground troops to Iran. The official said that Trump still retains all military options and will not publicly disclose specific strategic deployments. Regarding reports that the U.S. might occupy or blockade Iran’s Halek Island, the official said that the U.S. military “can strike the target at any time.” (CCTV News)
