CCTV News According to Haikou Customs statistics, since the closure and operation began on December 18, 2025, through the end of February 2026, Hainan enterprises’ import and export trade has reached 65.49 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.1%. Among them, exports totaled 26.84 billion yuan, up 55.4%; imports totaled 38.65 billion yuan, up 15.5%, showing vigorous development.

Since the closure, Hainan’s foreign trade growth has maintained an increase of over 20% for three consecutive months, significantly faster than the national average during the same period. There are 2,108 enterprises with import and export performance in Hainan, an increase of 48.5%. Of these, private enterprises number 1,944, with a total import and export value of 49.27 billion yuan, up 45.3%, accounting for 75.2% of Hainan’s total import and export value, an 8.3 percentage point increase, highlighting their role as the main force in foreign trade.

Hainan has trade relations with more than 220 countries and regions, with import and export growth with over 180 countries and regions. Among them, trade with countries jointly building the “Belt and Road” amounts to 40.19 billion yuan, up 34.7%, accounting for 61.4% of total import and export value. Imports and exports to ASEAN, Africa, and Latin America are 9.83 billion yuan, 9.17 billion yuan, and 5.22 billion yuan, respectively, with growth rates of 11.4%, 67%, and 28.9%; exports and imports to the Middle East and Central Asia increased by 41% and 296.5%, respectively.

Overall, from the perspective of foreign trade, since the operation of Hainan Free Trade Port’s closure, port operations have been smooth and efficient, enterprises enjoy convenient customs clearance, foreign trade flows have gathered, and policy dividends are accelerating into market vitality and development momentum, achieving a good start.
