The Gujarat government has approved a supplementary power purchase agreement for Tata Power's 4 GW power plant located in Mundra, enabling its restart. Following the announcement, Tata Power's stock price surged. Chief Executive Officer Praveer Sinha stated that the agreement will be finalized with other states, and the efficient power plant will supply electricity at an economical price to help meet summer electricity demand. Previously, the power plant had incurred losses of nearly 8 billion rupees due to a six-month shutdown.
