The Securities and Exchange Commission says clarity has finally arrived.

Atkins: "We are now providing clarity from an SEC perspective on what securities are and what are not."
SEC Chair Paul Atkins says the agency is breaking from the past by drawing a clearer line in the digital asset space. The new interpretive statement also includes collaboration with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Atkins says the SEC identifies four types of assets that are not securities:
- Digital commodities
- Digital instruments
- Digital collectibles
- Stablecoins
For an industry that has been asking for regulatory clarity for years, this is a statement worth paying attention to.
