Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) announced its plan to launch four new container freight futures contracts. These futures will be indexed to the New York Shipping Exchange’s (NYSHEX) Freight Indices, which are calculated by ICE Data Services and serve as benchmarks for containerized freight pricing. The contracts, covering key shipping routes between the U.S., Asia, and Europe, are slated for an April 7, 2026 launch, pending regulatory approval, and aim to help the market manage container freight risk.
