# MIIT Launches Industrial Data Foundation Initiative, Pioneering High-Quality Industry Dataset Construction Empowered by Artificial Intelligence

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has launched the Industrial Data Foundation Initiative, pioneering the development of high-quality industry data sets empowered by artificial intelligence. Focusing on the development and utilization of industrial data, the initiative selects key manufacturing sectors and implements targeted policies based on main entities such as industry-leading companies, platform organizations, advanced manufacturing clusters, and pilot cities for digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises. Guided by typical scenario needs, the initiative conducts pilot projects on critical links and key scenarios with small-scale approaches, aiming to break through bottlenecks in data collection, integration, and application. By the end of 2026, the goal is to cultivate a number of industry data cooperation consortia, build trusted interconnected platforms for key industry data, gather a variety of industry data resources, tackle key data technologies, develop industry data standards, and create high-quality, standardized, and tradable industry data sets. These efforts will enable the deployment of large industry models and industrial intelligent agents, summarize effective paths, innovative mechanisms, and experiential models for efficient data collection, trusted circulation, integration, and application, and empower industries to improve quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
