Russian Central Bank Lowers Key Interest Rate to 15%

On March 20, the Central Bank of Russia announced in a press release after its board meeting that it had cut the benchmark interest rate by 0.5 percentage points for the second time this year, bringing it to an annual rate of 15%. The bank also stated that it will assess both domestic and external risks when making decisions at future meetings. This marks the seventh consecutive rate cut by the Russian Central Bank.
