** 【Caixin.com】**“Investors thought they were dealing with a real company, but it turned out to be just an empty shell.” On March 18, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung vividly used this metaphor during a forum on “Capital Market Stability and Normalization” held at Cheong Wa Dae, directly pointing to the long-standing trust crisis in the South Korean stock market.

Lee Jae-myung mentioned that the long-standing issue of the “Korea Discount” in the Korean stock market is mainly caused by four factors: corporate governance problems and abuse of management rights, stock price manipulation and other improper behaviors, geopolitical risks on the Korean Peninsula, and uncertainty in industrial policies.
