The Minister of Commerce of China, Wang Wen Tao, met with Apple Inc. CEO Tim Cook. The two sides exchanged views on China-U.S. economic and trade relations and Apple’s operations and development in China.

Wang Wen Tao stated that under the diplomatic strategic guidance of the heads of state of China and the U.S., both sides’ economic and trade teams have conducted six rounds of dialogue and consultation, reaching a series of important consensus. Both sides agree that a healthy, stable, and sustainable China-U.S. economic and trade relationship not only benefits both countries but also has a significant impact on global economic stability and development.

He pointed out that China is committed to building an open global economy, and its economic development is providing stability and certainty to a turbulent world. China continues to promote high-level opening-up, focusing on building a stable, resilient, green, and innovative industrial and supply chain. He hopes Apple will remain confident in its development in China and share in China’s development opportunities.

Cook said that China is Apple’s most important manufacturing base and primary source of supply. Apple continues to deepen innovation cooperation, green development, and industry chain collaboration in China, which aligns closely with the direction of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan. Apple hopes to maintain stable development of China-U.S. economic and trade relations.
