The General Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province issued the “Action Plan for Accelerating the Cultivation and Development of New Tracks to Lead the Construction of a Modern Industrial System (2026–2035).” It proposes conducting multi-technology route research on quantum computing, including superconductivity and ion traps, and promoting the research and development of quantum computing chips, prototypes, and control systems. It aims to validate applications of quantum computing in key scenarios such as new material development and financial product optimization. It also promotes the validation of quantum measurement applications in aerospace, biological testing, and geological exploration. The plan includes forward-looking layout in the field of quantum materials, focusing on research and development of innovative materials such as new topological, superconducting, and magnetic materials, as well as their preparation processes and equipment.
