Live streaming commerce is currently the largest-scale and most direct monetization model for self-media in China. In 2025, China's live streaming e-commerce GMV (gross merchandise volume) exceeded 5 trillion yuan, accounting for nearly one-third of the nation's online retail sales, with an estimated active user base of 660 million in the industry.
