According to the Chongqing Municipal Market Supervision Administration, on the evening of March 15, CCTV’s “3.15” Gala exposed an issue involving a Chongqing-based company illegally using hydrogen peroxide to produce and process chicken feet.

After the State Market Supervision Administration transferred the case clues to the Chongqing Municipal Market Supervision Administration, law enforcement personnel at the city and district levels have entered the company to continue in-depth investigation. Currently, the company has been placed under investigation for suspected illegal activities, with involved products seized and the company urged to voluntarily recall the implicated products.

The Chongqing Municipal Market Supervision Administration will work with relevant departments to lawfully investigate the illegal activities of the involved company, and will conduct comprehensive governance of food safety issues across the city. Key efforts include rectifying excessive or unauthorized use of food additives, further strengthening the primary responsibility of enterprises for food safety, standardizing production and business practices of practitioners, and effectively safeguarding the public’s “safety on the tip of the tongue.”
