Saudi Arabia Reportedly Increases Oil Production and Stockpiles Overseas in Advance to Hedge Against Middle East Supply Disruption Risk
Latest news shows that Saudi Arabia is increasing its oil production and exports as an emergency response to the escalating geopolitical situation in the Middle East. In June last year, Saudi Arabia increased its oil exports by about 500,000 barrels per day and shipped more crude overseas for storage. That month, the United States launched the “Midnight Hammer” military operation against Iran, targeting three nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. Two sources told the media that Saudi Arabia’s plans this year are similar to those in 2025. The sources explained that Saudi Arabia is increasing oil production to respond to emergencies and promote exports. (Cailian Press)
