Developers of the $LIBRA memecoin may have agreed to pay Argentine President Javier Milei $5M to promote the token.
The reported payment structure:
➡️ $1.5M upfront
➡️ $1.5M for an X post supporting the project
➡️ $2M after signing a consulting agreement related to blockchain and AI
The document is dated February 11, 2025, just days before LIBRA launched and Milei publicly posted about the token.
After the promotion, the coin’s price spiked sharply and then collapsed, with investor losses estimated at around $250M.
