National Bureau of Statistics: Infrastructure Investment Increases 11.4% in First Two Months; Manufacturing Rebounds 3.1%

Viewpoint Network News: On March 16, the spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics, Fu Linghui, stated at the State Council Information Office press conference that a batch of major infrastructure projects will commence construction in 2026, driving related investment growth. Infrastructure investment from January to February increased by 11.4% year-on-year, accelerating by 10.8 percentage points compared to the whole of last year, contributing to a 3 percentage point increase in investment growth.

Meanwhile, driven by industrial upgrading and development, the transformation of traditional industries and the growth of emerging industries have also boosted manufacturing investment. Manufacturing investment from January to February grew by 3.1% year-on-year, accelerating by 2.5 percentage points compared to the whole of last year.
