The China-U.S. economic and trade teams concluded a two-day China-U.S. economic and trade consultation in Paris, France, on Monday. According to Xinhua News Agency, Li Chenggang, China’s Ministry of Commerce International Trade Negotiation Representative and Vice Minister, stated that regarding the promotion of bilateral trade and investment cooperation, both sides discussed the idea of establishing a working mechanism to facilitate bilateral trade and investment cooperation. During the consultations, both parties also had in-depth discussions on each other’s economic and trade concerns.

The topics discussed between China and the U.S. included the issue of bilateral tariff levels under new circumstances, the possible further extension of arrangements related to bilateral tariffs and related non-tariff measures, promoting bilateral trade and investment cooperation, and each side’s economic and trade concerns.

The U.S. side introduced the latest adjustments to U.S. tariff measures and considerations for the next steps. China expressed concern over the uncertainties caused by these changes. Both sides agreed to work together to maintain stability in bilateral economic and trade relations.
