Research: Changes in Cerebrovascular Function May Be Associated with Alzheimer's Disease Risk

A new study in the United States shows that brain vascular function declines in patients before the obvious symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease appear. Simple, non-invasive brain vascular tests can be used for large-scale screening to identify high-risk groups for Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s is the main type of dementia, and its underlying pathological process begins decades before symptoms appear. Decline in brain vascular function and insufficient oxygen and nutrient supply to brain tissue may be among the earliest pathological changes. (Xinhua News Agency)
