Reports suggest Sony has tested Gran Turismo 7 on Nintendo Switch 2, possibly paving the way for its own PS6 handheld console
IT Home, February 26 — Although Sony’s PlayStation has not yet ported any first-party PS4 or PS5 exclusive games to Switch2, the company has shown interest in the handheld console. A recent exciting report comes from industry insider and journalist Jeff Grubb, who revealed in a recent podcast that Sony has tested Gran Turismo 7 on Nintendo’s new console.
IT Home notes that Grubb stated during the program, “I recently heard that Gran Turismo 7 is running on Switch2,” but he also expressed skepticism about whether the game will be officially released. He did not provide further details, only suggesting that Sony should prioritize releasing a PC version.
Another possibility is that Sony simply wants to test how its racing series performs on its own handheld device. The PS6 handheld is expected to launch as early as 2027, equipped with an AMD APU supporting the RDNA 5 architecture, which is expected to far surpass the performance of Switch2.
Currently, players are more confused because Gran Turismo 7 has yet to arrive on the massive PC platform. Even though Sony has ambitions for cross-platform development, it still seems content to lock some of its titles to its own consoles.
