Super Intelligence Doesn't Necessarily Need a "Body"

On the recently concluded 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala stage, from Yushu Technology’s robot’s seamless “cyber kung fu” to the biomimetic companion beside Cai Ming, embodied intelligence (Embodied AI) as a new technological form is entering the public eye at an unprecedented speed. In the Western world, Stanford University professor and known as the “Godmother of Artificial Intelligence” Li Feifei founded World Labs and pointed out that granting algorithms a sense of touch similar to humans through spatial intelligence is the true path to achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI); meanwhile, Elon Musk’s Optimus robot has quietly “joined” Tesla’s factory. If Li Feifei’s approach is more about giving AI a body, Musk is trying to breathe life into the steel body he has built in a more down-to-earth way.
