ETF Midday Review | A-shares Down Slightly, Agricultural Sector Leads Gains, Soybean Meal ETF Up 4%

Gelonghui, March 13 — The three major A-share indices all declined slightly in the morning session. At midday, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.22%, the Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.17%, the ChiNext Index decreased 0.03%, and the Beijing Securities 50 Index declined 0.1%. The combined half-day trading volume of the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing markets was 15,167 billion yuan, down 904 million yuan from the previous day. Over 2,900 stocks in the market rose. Stablecoins, cloud computing, computing power leasing, cybersecurity, AI applications, smart grids, CPO, and humanoid robot concept stocks were sluggish; lithium batteries, wind power, and phosphate chemical themes were active, while real estate and consumer sectors gained strength.

In terms of ETFs, today’s active sectors included agricultural products, infrastructure, and new energy vehicles, with related ETFs leading the gains:

  • Agricultural products: Soybean meal ETF (159985) surged 4.44%, leading the market, directly benefiting from the strength of agriculture and consumer themes.
  • Infrastructure: GF Infrastructure ETF (516970) rose 2.05%, Yinhua Infrastructure ETF (516950) increased 1.67%, forming a link with the real estate sector.
  • Oil and gas: S&P Oil & Gas ETF (513350) increased 1.99%.
  • New energy and consumer sectors: New energy vehicle ETF (515700) up 1.14%, New energy vehicle ETF (515030) up 1.05%, Guotai ChiNext New Energy ETF (159387) up 1.02%; Food ETF (159151) up 1.13%, Agriculture ETF (516550) up 1.09%, Green Energy ETF (562010) up 1.03%.

Today, cloud computing, AI applications, and military industry sectors experienced deep corrections, with significant declines in related ETFs:

  • Overseas markets: Brazil ETF (159100) down 3.06%, leading the decline.
  • Digital economy and AI sectors: Huaxia ChiNext Software ETF (159256) down 2.84%, Industrial Mother Machine ETF (159667) down 2.77%, Big Data ETF (515400) down 2.77%, E Fund Information Security ETF (562920) down 2.53%, E Fund Cloud Computing ETF (516510) down 2.43%, Software ETF (159852) down 2.27%, Southern Computer ETF (159586) down 2.26%, New China Cloud Computing 50 ETF (560660) down 2.24%.
  • Military industry: National Defense ETF (512670) down 2.24%.
