It definitely doesn't have a hedging function; gold is the hedge. Otherwise, why do you think gold has been rising recently? Are you sure a conflict has started? I haven't seen any news yet. If a conflict does break out, prices will continue to fall. Limited strikes that end within a week shouldn't be a concern; in fact, you can increase your positions because a rebound is certain.

It's not safe-haven capital. Virtual currencies are all considered risk investments. Who told you they have safe-haven functions?
