Crypto News: Alchemy announces the launch of an autonomous payment system for AI agents, allowing AI agents to automatically purchase computing power credits using USDC on the Base network via on-chain wallets. The system also provides access to blockchain data services, including querying on-chain data, NFT holdings, multi-chain wallet balances, and real-time token prices, all without human intervention. The system adopts Coinbase’s x402 payment standard, converting HTTP 402 Payment Required responses into automatic settlement triggers for machine-to-machine transactions. Agent accounts can be funded with a minimum of $1 USDC; when credits are exhausted, the system automatically initiates a payment request and replenishes the account. Alchemy CEO Nikil Viswanathan stated that this system is aimed at developers building autonomous DeFi agents, portfolio management bots, and other on-chain applications. Major crypto applications like Robinhood Crypto, Uniswap, and Aave are already running on Alchemy, and AI agents can now independently access the same infrastructure.
