Peter Steinberger, the founder of the highly respected ClawdBot project within the developer community, recently reported on platform X that his GitHub account was compromised by malicious actors operating within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Steinberger stated that he is actively seeking assistance from the GitHub community to regain control of his compromised account. He clarified that the cybercriminals who took over did not launch token projects using his profile directly, and he categorically denied any suggestion that he voluntarily granted commit permissions for malicious purposes.

The account name change was requested by Anthropic, the company closely associated with ClawdBot, but it was not a voluntary decision made by the developer.
