Nasdaq company holds 4.2 million ETH: Ethereum whale holdings reach new highs
【ChainNews】Another large Ethereum holding data exposure. Nasdaq-listed treasury company BitMine recently disclosed its crypto asset holdings—holding over 3.48% of the total Ethereum supply, which is indeed a significant amount.
Specifically, BitMine’s crypto assets include approximately 4.203 million ETH and 193 BTC, with $979 million in unpledged cash. Combined with other cryptocurrencies and assets, the total asset scale reaches $14.5 billion. The Ethereum portion is particularly eye-catching—based on current prices, this part alone is worth a considerable amount.
What’s more interesting is their staking strategy. As of January 19, BitMine’s total staked Ethereum reached 1.838 million ETH (at the then price of $3,211 per ETH, this portion is worth $5.9 billion), an increase of about 582,000 ETH compared to last week. It’s clear that in this market cycle, they are continuously increasing their ETH staking.
In addition to the holdings data, the company also has some governance updates. At the shareholder meeting on January 15, all four proposals were approved. The proposal to increase the number of statutory shares received 81% approval, indicating strong support. This shows that shareholders generally approve of the company’s asset allocation strategy.
Overall, large institutions continue to be optimistic about Ethereum’s long-term value and keep increasing staking yields. Such holding data often serve as an important reference for market sentiment—big players’ actions often reflect actual expectations for the ecosystem.
