i know we're all glazing claude right now but google just had the mother-of-all launches and everyone's missing it

firstly, the apple deal - 2 billion apple devices will now run google , apple pays them $1B per year for the privilege but thats not even the most insane part - this is apple admitting google's the only company they *can use* for AI at scale. why? because google has the full stack (infra, models, distribution, data) and can scale to apples size.

openai and anthropic are small fish, thats why their apple partnerships died. this isn't about $1B, thats nothing for google but i bet you it'll grow into a much bigger paycheck as ai becomes more core to apple's products.

second launch - for gmail, literally everyone missed the story here, no one gives a damn about sorting emails but google now gets access to 2 billion email inboxes AND WORKSPACES. do you understand how insane that is? google drive, docs, sheets used by 90% of US startups are being leveraged by .

that is a data moat NO ONE can compete with.

google has your emails, locations via google maps, search history, android data etc etc that is literal gold to model training.

google says they wont use emails to train but they sure as hell will use it to identify trends, patterns which is just as good.

finally, they launched a ecommerce protocol that'll let you buy anything using .

if this works (and its a good chance) amazon suffers. why? because becomes the intents layer for ecommerce.

google will know what you want to buy before you want to buy it. they'll know WHY you want to buy it. that data is invaluable. amazon? they just get relegated to being the warehouse and delivery service of the world (as far as ecommerce at least, this doesnt effect the AWS money maker)
