Decentralized storage is clearly accelerating in this sector by 2026. Within the Sui ecosystem, there is a project called Walrus that has been gaining a lot of attention recently.

Let's first look at the technical hard indicators. The mainnet has been running for over a year, handling PB-level data volumes stably, with node counts surpassing 1000+. These numbers are not fake—they demonstrate that the architecture design can truly handle the load. The biggest concerns for storage infrastructure are instability and bottlenecks, and Walrus has no issues in these areas.

But what’s truly interesting is its developer ecosystem. The official SDK is quite user-friendly, supporting multiple programming languages, with a gentle learning curve. Currently, thousands of developers are building on it—applications like game asset storage, AI data marketplaces, and permanent social archives. Recently, a global hackathon attracted many participants, and winning projects can directly receive grants. This model indeed helps accelerate application deployment.

Regarding the token $WAL, its economic model is quite thoughtfully designed. All storage-related fees go 100% into the treasury, with a portion used for buybacks and burns, and another portion distributed to stakers. This setup naturally creates deflationary expectations. Additionally, governance rights are directly delegated to the community—holding $WAL allows participation in protocol upgrade votes. No centralized decision-making is involved, which keeps the approach quite open.

Looking at the bigger picture, Sui’s TVL is climbing, and the Move ecosystem is exploding. The demand for decentralized storage as underlying infrastructure will only grow stronger. Whether for enterprise-level data backups or personal content permanent notarization, this sector indeed has significant potential.

Now is a good time to get involved—whether holding tokens, participating in staking, or building applications on top—everyone can benefit from the growth dividends of the storage sector.

Walrus this time really has something; PB-level data has been running stably for a year. I am optimistic.

Walrus hitting over a thousand nodes shows that stability is no joke, but what really matters is the economic model. The 100% transaction fee going into the treasury for buyback and burn is truly a brilliant move.

Walrus is indeed causing a stir, but honestly, while the hype is strong, it depends on how many real applications can be implemented later on.

It sounds like Walrus really has something, running stably at the PB level is no joke.
