A number of former #الاحتياطي Federal Reserve Board Chairmen, U.S. Treasury Secretaries, and leading economists issued a statement on Monday to support Jerome #باول in the face of potential perjury charges from the Department of Justice.

The statement, signed by more than a dozen individuals, said: "The alleged criminal investigation of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell is an unprecedented attempt to exploit legal attacks to undermine his independence."

The statement was signed by former Federal Reserve Chairmen Ben Bernanke, Janet Yellen, and Alan Greenspan, as well as former Treasury Secretaries Henry Paulson, Timothy Geithner, Robert Rubin, and Jacob Lew, along with prominent economists such as Gleen Hubbard, Kenneth Rogoff, and Jared Bernstein.

The statement added: "This is how monetary policy is crafted in emerging markets with weak institutions, leading to severe consequences for #الفيدرالي and the overall performance of their economies.

There is no place for this approach in the United States, where the rule of law, which forms the foundation of our economic success, is our greatest strength."

The statement emphasized that the independence of the Federal Reserve and public perception of this independence are critically important for economic performance, as well as for achieving the goals set by #التضخم for the central bank, which include price stability, maximum employment, and maintaining moderate long-term interest rates.
