How do devs break free from quick-money tools and move into real tech building?

It's the classic arc: start shipping fast products, chase the hype cycle, then realize you want to build something with actual substance. The transition from chasing volume metrics to focusing on protocol architecture, smart contract optimization, or blockchain infrastructure—that's where the real learning happens.

Many builders go through this: launch something on trending platforms, taste success, but eventually ask bigger questions about what they're actually contributing to the ecosystem. That's when real developer maturity kicks in. The shift from "What can I build quickly?" to "What do I want to be known for building?" separates the tourists from the infrastructure architects.

It's not easy abandoning what works. But sustainable tech careers in Web3 usually require that leap.

ngl I am very touched by this issue... I've seen too many stories of people quickly making a fortune and then getting trapped. It really makes me pause and think about what I truly want to keep.

ngl That's why most shitcoin developers eventually disappear; there's nothing to support it.

Honestly, this transition is much more difficult than the article thought. Fast money is really tempting, and looking back, I've lost sight of my original intention.

Exactly right, you have to be ruthless and give up those quick money projects, or you'll be stuck forever in the mud of arbitrage.

ngl That's why most people are still trading short-term projects... truly, there are very few builders.

That moment of realization really hits deep... From making quick money to truly building infrastructure, how intense is this transformation?

Honestly, chasing hot topics to make quick money is outdated. True builders all have to go through this awakening period.

ngl This really hit home, many people are indeed like this... At first, they chase quick money, and only later realize that shallow things can't last long.

To be honest, there are not many developers who can truly withstand this turning point; most have still been domesticated by short-term gains.
