Past Christmases have always left a deep impression on investors. Starting from $0.25 in 2010 and reaching around $88,000 in 2025, what has Bitcoin experienced over these 15 years?
Early stage (2010-2013) was relatively calm. In 2010, it was only $0.25; in 2011, it jumped to $4; in 2012, $13; and in 2013, it first surged to $682—marking the first significant rally. Then in 2014, it pulled back to $319, and in 2015, it slowly recovered to $456.
Mid-term breakthrough (2016-2017) began to accelerate. On Christmas 2016, Bitcoin stood at $896; by 2017, it skyrocketed to $14,027, an increase of over 1500%. However, this was followed by a sharp correction in 2018, dropping to $3,815.
Recent years' market (2019-2025) have been volatile. In 2019, it slowly recovered to $7,275; in 2020, it rebounded sharply to $24,665; in 2021, it hit a historic high of $50,430. In 2022, the bear market pushed it down to $16,831; in 2023, it regained momentum to $43,665; and by Christmas 2024, it reached a recent high of $98,200.
An interesting comparison is that the $88,000 in 2025, although a pullback from 2024, has already increased about 192 times compared to $456 in 2015. This number itself illustrates the long-term trend of the market.
