The victim was Denila Kuzmin, the 21-year-old son of Sergey Kuzmin, Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv, Ukraine; among the suspects, one was 45-year-old former Ukrainian customs officer Alexander Agoev, and the other was Bogdan Reznuk, the 19-year-old stepson of Olesya Iraschuk, Ukrainian ambassador to Bulgaria. The motive for the suspects’ actions was to obtain the password to Denila’s cryptocurrency wallets. Denila was studying in Vienna and had disclosed to one of the suspects that his father was the Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv and owned cryptocurrency assets.
