I have always watched those clowns jumping around from an outsider's perspective. Previously, there was a KOL who used his mother's serious illness to get kind-hearted netizens to donate money. Many people were moved by his filial piety and generously donated.
I quietly followed the crowd and transferred what little balance I had in my wallet to the publicized wallet address. But soon after, it was exposed that this KOL had scripted the entire thing with Photoshop tricks.
Afterwards, like most people, I blocked this KOL. I didn’t tweet to denounce his ugly behavior, just casually left comments like “fuck” under a few posts condemning him.
Coincidentally, a few days ago there was another Elizabeth donation scam incident. It got me thinking: why are these people willing to throw away their dignity and do such despicable things?
They say human nature is sinister, especially in this era where material things trump spirituality. Most of us try to hold onto the little kindness and goodwill we have, helping others when we can while still protecting ourselves. This approach carries over to our online behavior as well.
But these people are different. In reality, they must be even worse than what we see online, because they easily discard even the last shred of decency that the internet offers them.
I remember a line from a very old online novel, "Light Dance Soaring": “You never know if there’s a dog on the other side of the internet.” Before the mask is ripped off, no one knows if you’re a dog in real life. Now, it turns out, they’re not even as good as dogs.
Now that my fever is gone, I’ve been lying in bed, a bit dizzy, thinking a lot. Today I won’t talk about projects, just these things that are worse than dogs.
Lastly, I want to thank those who are still full of love and often help others. The following teachers are listed in no particular order. After writing this I’ll get back to sleep.
