The final candidates for the 7th election of the Financial Investment Association are confirmed to be Seo Yoo-seok, the current chairman of the association, Lee Hyun-seung, former CEO of KB Asset Management, and Hwang Seong-yeop, CEO of Shinyoung Securities.

Seo Yu-seok, the chairman of the Korea Financial Investment Association, is an industry expert with extensive experience in securities, asset management, and associations. He emphasized the need for “continuity of leadership” as he challenges for a second term for the first time since the establishment of the association.
Chairman Seo graduated from Baejae High School and the Department of Economics at Korea University, and obtained a Master's degree in Financial Management from Korea University's Graduate School of Business. He started his career at Hana Securities in the Sales Promotion Department, and served as the CEO of the Retail Business Division and the Retirement Pension Promotion Division at Mirae Asset Securities, gaining experience in sales and organizational management.
He has served as the president of Mirae Asset Maps Asset Management, the head of marketing and ETFs at Mirae Asset Asset Management, and the CEO of Mirae Asset Asset Management. In addition, he has held multiple roles in policy and regulatory fields, including as a member of the Macroeconomic Supervision Forum at the Financial Supervisory Service, an advisory member of the Self-Regulatory Committee at the Korea Financial Investment Association, and a member of the Stock Price Index Committee at the Korea Exchange.
Chairman Seo, who has over 30 years of experience in the industry, emphasizes the expanded role of the Korea Financial Investment Association in light of the new government's market-friendly policy changes. Lee Hyun-seung, the former CEO of KB Asset Management, is a former bureaucrat who passed the administrative examination and worked at the Ministry of Finance and Economy. After that, he served as CEO for 16 years at companies including Merrill Lynch Securities, SK Securities, Coramco Asset Management, and KB Asset Management. He has a background that includes experience in public service, global investment banking, securities firms, and asset management companies.
The former representative emphasizes that he has both a background in bureaucratic experience and expertise in public relations and the financial investment industry. After retiring from public office, he served in top positions in the industry, including as the president of SK Securities, and has proposed the establishment of the “Financial Investment Support Center”) as a pledge to support the licensing process in the financial investment sector.
Hwang Seong-yeop, the CEO of Shin Young Securities, has been with the company for nearly 40 years since joining in 1987, making him a 'Shin Young man'.
