On November 29, according to official sources, World ID announced the launch of a passport authentication system (World ID Passport Credential) pilot program in countries such as Chile, Colombia, Malaysia and South Korea, according to the news from DeepChotechFlow. The system allows users to associate their passport with their World ID through NFC function, while ensuring that user information is completely stored on personal devices and not shared with third parties.

It is reported that users who are verified through passport authentication can receive additional WLD Token rewards. Currently, World ID users verified through Orb can claim approximately 51.69 WLD Tokens. The World Foundation stated that users who complete passport authentication will receive additional rewards without the need for Orb verification.

The World ID passport authentication system currently only supports iOS devices, and users must have an NFC passport from the pilot country and be located within the corresponding country. The project party stated that the Android version will be launched soon and will be expanded to more countries in the future.
