Odaily Planet Daily reports that Russian cryptocurrency fraudster Roman Novak and his wife Anna were kidnapped and murdered in the United Arab Emirates. The case is related to extorting digital assets. Roman Novak was previously sentenced in Saint Petersburg for large-scale fraud, then moved to Dubai, where he developed the Fintopio crypto application and allegedly raised hundreds of millions of dollars from new investors. It is reported that the couple disappeared during an investor meeting and was later confirmed to have been lured into a rented villa for kidnapping. The kidnappers attempted to force Novak to give access to his large crypto funds. After failing to succeed, Novak and his wife were murdered.
