The Mainnet 2.1 upgrade introduces a standout feature – integrating the NFT-transfer module, bringing Interchain non-fungible token (NFT) functionality. Following rigorous testing during the GoN event and meticulous auditing, the Mainnet 2.1 is set to empower developers with groundbreaking capabilities.
In response to user demands, IRISnet 2.1 expands its API functionality. Support for querying NFTs through the x/nft module API and the irismod/nft module allows users to delve into the vast landscape of Interchain NFTs, pushing the boundaries of the eco.
Under the hood, the upgrade includes improvements such as upgrades to Cosmos SDK v0.47.4, CometBFT v0.37.2, and IBC v7.3.0 – enhancements aimed at boosting overall performance. The Nyancat testnet is now open, inviting validators, service providers, and dApp builders to put the upcoming features to the test.
The upgrade procedure consists of three steps: submission of the on-chain upgrade proposal, a voting period, and finally, the ution of the mainnet upgrade. It’s important to note that the Mainnet 2.1 upgrade will be compatible.
The proposed timeline for the upgrade is as follows: testnet activation on December 15, 2023, on-chain upgrade proposal submission on January 3, 2024, and the actual upgrade ution on January 8, 2024. However, it’s important to recognize that the actual timeline is subject to the Upgrade Proposal.
Developers are advised to take note of the upgrade notes, especially the migration of parameters in the params module to their respective modules in adherence to Cosmos-SDK v0.47.4 upgrade requirements.
