Last week I added Mira to a pipeline that was already working.
Nothing fancy. It pulls clauses out of contracts and sends them to a classifier downstream. The model’s accuracy was fine. Latency was fine. No one was complaining about performance.
The problem wasn’t the model.
The problem was sign-off.
Every single extracted clause still had to be reviewed by a human before it could move forward. Not because the model was bad. Because compliance doesn’t care about confidence scores. They care about proof. The policy literally says “human validated.” That line doesn’t change just because benchmarks improve.
So instead of arguing about model accuracy again, I tried something different.
I installed the Mira SDK.
Pointed it to the endpoint. Added the key. Ran the first call.
The response looked normal. If you only looked at the output, you wouldn’t think much had changed.
The difference showed up in the logs.
First clause: simple stuff. Date reference. Governing law. Boilerplate language. Validators picked it up almost immediately. Quorum formed fast. Stake committed. Certificate issued. Output hash anchored.
Done.
Second clause looked similar at first glance. Same contract set. But this one had an indemnification carve-out with conditional wording. The kind of language that shifts meaning depending on how you read it. Or which jurisdiction you’re thinking about.
This one didn’t clear as fast.
You could actually see the validators forming opinions. Different models. Different training runs. Each evaluating the same claim independently.
Some leaned one way. Some another.
Quorum weight climbed.
Paused.
Climbed again.
Eventually it crossed the threshold. Certificate printed. Verification passed.
But something else stood out: dissent weight.
Even though the claim passed, disagreement was higher than the first clause. That number stayed visible.
In the old setup, none of that would exist. The model would return an answer in a confident tone. Everything would look equally certain. You’d never know that multiple reasonable interpretations were possible.
Here, the claim still clears. But you can see how clean the agreement actually was.
I ran more clauses.
Same pattern every time.
Clear factual claims move fast. Consensus forms quickly. Low dissent. Easy.
Interpretive claims take longer. Confidence drifts before settling. Sometimes dissent stays elevated even after the certificate is issued.
Those became interesting.
No one asked for that signal. The original goal was simple: replace “human validated” with something cryptographic.
But once dissent weight showed up in the logs, the workflow changed on its own.
Reviewers started opening the high-dissent clauses first. Not because verification failed. Because the system showed where there was real uncertainty.
Clauses with clean consensus stopped getting automatic second looks.
The review queue shrank.
Not because the model got smarter. Because the uncertainty stopped being hidden.
The old pipeline flattened everything. Every output felt equally confident. So humans treated everything like it might be risky.
Now there’s a gradient.
Some clauses are clearly solid. Some are clearly not. And some sit in the gray area.
That gray area used to be invisible.
Mira doesn’t pretend disagreement doesn’t exist. It records it. The certificate doesn’t just say “yes.” It shows how strongly the network agreed.
And it turns out that’s what compliance actually needed.
Not another percentage point of accuracy.
Not a fancier model.
Just a way to see where the model might be wrong.
Once you can see that, you don’t review everything the same way anymore.
