Gate has completed the upgrade of its Gate Skills architecture to version 2.0, shifting the underlying execution mechanism of Gate for AI Agent from a multi-step MCP tool invocation model to a native CLI (command-line interface) instruction-driven approach. This upgrade focuses on restructuring the execution layer, introducing a localized command framework that improves cost efficiency, execution stability, and the handling of complex tasks.
Under the new architecture, tool descriptions and business logic that previously relied on model context processing are pre-packaged and embedded into the local CLI environment. During execution, the AI no longer needs to repeatedly parse complex tool structures or perform multi-round parameter confirmations. Instead, it generates simplified commands that directly trigger execution workflows. This change significantly reduces token consumption, with overall costs decreasing by more than 60% in high-frequency usage scenarios.
The shift in execution model also improves stability. In multi-turn interactions, models can be affected by historical context, leading to deviations in parameter construction. With CLI-driven execution, commands must follow predefined syntax and pass validation checks before execution, making precision-critical scenarios such as trading more controllable and significantly improving execution success rates.
At the same time, the redesigned execution flow changes how complex tasks are handled. Previously, long-sequence operations required multiple interaction rounds. Now, planning and execution can be completed within a single command, reducing the risk of interruptions caused by network fluctuations or model state changes. This enables practical implementation of "one-command, multi-step execution".
In real-world applications, the upgraded architecture has been deployed in scenarios such as high-frequency research monitoring and automated trading. AI can periodically scan major assets and generate reports, as well as execute concurrent portfolio adjustment instructions during periods of market volatility. Overall, responsiveness and execution efficiency have improved significantly compared to previous models. The integration process has also been simplified. Users can deploy the CLI environment with a single command through tools such as OpenClaw, Cursor, Claude Code, or CodeX, enabling immediate access to AI Skills without additional configuration.
In addition, sensitive information such as API keys is strictly confined to the local CLI environment. The AI acts only as an initiator of intent, and no sensitive data needs to be transmitted to the model layer, further reducing potential risks.
