$200 Million in $BTC Buried in Welsh Landfill
Did you know that a staggering sum of over $200 million is currently buried beneath thousands of tons of garbage in a landfill site in Wales? The unfortunate incident revolves around James Howells, a British man who mistakenly discarded a hard drive containing 7500 BTC into a waste bin back in 2013. Considering the present value of Bitcoin, this digital fortune has reached an astounding worth of over $200 million.
In an attempt to recover his lost treasure, Howells sought permission from the Newport City Council to search the refuse dump. Regrettably, his request was denied due to legitimate concerns regarding the environment and funding. The hard drive is believed to be buried deep within the heaps of refuse, and the process of sifting through the waste could potentially trigger a significant environmental disaster. This unlucky man would have had 8 figure in BTC but this 8 figures is currently sitting in the bottom of tons of refuse.
This highlights the importance of securely storing our digital gold (aka $BTC).
