There's this odd tension with certain decentralized social platforms where you're completely on board with the vision—the principles are solid, the mission makes sense—but then you actually use the thing and it's… underwhelming?
Take one protocol I won't name. Love what they're trying to build. Open it up, though? The feed's a mess of random posts I never asked for. Half the discussions feel like insiders patting each other on the back. And every other day there's some new mini-feature or experimental app that screams "we built this for the meme" rather than solving real problems.
Maybe I'm missing the point. Or maybe the gap between ideology and execution is just wider than we'd like to admit in this space.

The ideal is very full, but it's really disappointing when used.

The ideals are abundant, but the reality is all about playing people for suckers... The promised decentralization ended up just being a change of place for the market makers to continue whipsawing.

The ideal is very full, but it's hard to put into words when actually using it.
